Peabody’s has live music every Sunday featuring The Legrand Trio. Trio plays and sings to American jazz and popular music from the 1920s and ’30s.

Casa Del Herrero
A Montecito treasure, Casa Del Herrero (House of the Carpenter) opens its doors for the summer with tours available to the public. The 1925 George Washington Smith home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is furnished in 19th-century Spanish antiques.

Divine Inspiration Gallery of Fine Art
Divine Inspiration Gallery of Fine Art showcases “Ocean Inspirations,” a collection of art from well-known local painters with works of our coast. Artist reception is held on June 9 from 1 pm to 4 pm.

MUSIC ACADEMY OF THE WEST
Masterclasses featured on a multitude of instruments ranging from horns to bassoons and also vocals. Through a technique the Academy calls “learning through performance,” audience members can watch as students perform on stage and are subsequently critiqued by a teacher.

Cameron Tummel Leads Local Drum Circle

Saint Joseph’s annual festival
Celebrating its 50th year, Saint Joseph’s Church holds a festival offering Mexican dishes, live entertainment, drawings with cash prizes, and rides for both toddlers and adults. A free trolley offered as transportation from the Carpinteria train station to the festival’s entrance.

TUESDAY, JULY 10
Montecito Association Meeting
The Association meets for its monthly board meeting on the second Tuesday of the month. Changes are in store for the San Ysidro Pharmacy property located on the northwest corner of East Valley Road and San Ysidro Road, in the Upper Village. Property owner Richard Gunner has been working with local architect Don Nulty to create a plan for the property. Preliminary plans include retention of most of the existing structures and the addition of 5,000 square feet of retail/office space. Interested members of the public are invited to attend.

The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is offering classes for those interested in better preparing themselves to assist the community in times of disaster. The training includes learning all aspects of how NIMS runs and how it helps the community.

Nothing But Nets
This fundraiser’s purpose is to raise money to buy treated mosquito nets for families in Africa to help combat Malaria. 100% of proceeds go to the cause. Guitar music, hors d’oeuvres and silent auction are offered.

SUNDAY, JULY 22
Montecito Hope Ranch Republican Women’s Club
Montecito/Hope Ranch Republican Women’s Club is sponsoring dinner at historic El Paseo with proceeds benefiting the club’s Youth Scholarship Program. The dinner is Fiesta-inspired and includes free valet. Entertainment by The Spirit of Fiesta herself, and both a silent and live auction is offered.
