You can certainly pick Wonder out of a crowd – he's the gray and white tabby with a kinky tail! This 2-year-old is a high-energy feline who is sure to keep you hopping. He loves to hunt and chases anything that moves. ASAP volunteers believe he'll also make a good lap cat. He likes people, but probably should not be around small children.

This "Wonder-ful" cat is available for adoption from the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP). ASAP is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that cares for the cats and kittens at the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter. The facility is located at 5473 Overpass Road, off Patterson Avenue. For more information, call 683-3368 or to view pictures of other cats, dog and rabbits available for adoption, please visit:

From now through the end of the year, ASAP is offering two cats (over the age of 6 months) for the price of one (only $55). Twice the love, twice the fun! Stop by today to pick out a pair of purr-meisters.

Kitten season is here and ASAP has an immediate need for foster homes for kittens that are too young to remain at the Shelter. For more information, please leave a message for Kim Snyder, ASAP Volunteer Coordinator at 681-4397 or e-mail her at

If you are unable to be a foster mom (or dad), ASAP is looking for volunteers to care for the cats at the Shelter for a few hours each week. Training classes are from 9 am to 11 am on Saturdays, by appointment. Again, please contact Kim Snyder for more information at 681-4397.
