Upper Village Business Burglarized
Wednesday, May 9 – An unknown suspect burglarized a business on East Valley Road in Montecito’s Upper Village. Deputy Baisa said the business’s motion sensor alarm was activated after the rear door’s window screen was removed.
Laptop Missing from Summerland Residence
Friday, May 11 – An unknown suspect entered a 64-year-old woman’s residence on Varlet Road in Summerland and stole items. Among the missing property: a Hewlett Packard laptop computer worth $1,700 and a powercord valued at $30.
Residence Ransacked, No Theft
Friday, May 11 – An unknown suspect burglarized a 62-year-old man’s residence at a Montecito institution. The victim told Deputy Baisa his closet had been ransacked, but he said he didn’t notice anything missing from his residence.
Cash Stolen from Couple’s Cars
Saturday, May 12 – An unknown victim stole $230 from a couple’s cars on Sinaloa Drive. The 55-year-old husband and 59-year-old wife told Deputy DeOrnellas that their cars were unlocked and that the perpetrator stole $200 in cash from the woman’s vehicle and $30 from the man’s vehicle.
Graffiti Damage Valued at $400
Tuesday, May 8 – An unknown suspect vandalized a Montecito commercial property by spraying multiple colors of graffiti on the outside of a building. The damage was about $400, according to deputies.
Drug Paraphernalia Found on Suspect
Monday, May 14 – A man camping in his vehicle on Butterfly Lane Road was detained for possession of illegal narcotics. Deputy Smith said he found a methamphetamine and marijuana pipe in the 39-year-old suspect’s car.
