Wrong Way Driver Arrested for Holding Drugs

Monday, April 9 – A 24-year-old man was charged for possession of a controlled substance after being pulled over after driving the wrong way on North Padaro Lane, near Highway 101.

Deputy Woodhill said he smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle. During a search, the deputy found marijuana, a marijuana pipe and mushrooms suspected to be psilocybin.

Pot Smoke Tips Off Witness

Tuesday, April 10 – A 34-year-old male was charged with possession of methamphetamine at Lookout Park Road in Summerland.

Deputies arrived on the scene after a witness told the department he had seen two people smoking marijuana in the park. Deputy Roberts said a 21-year-old woman and her 34-year-old boyfriend were smoking marijuana when he pulled up. A search of the man found a hypodermic needle; the man said he used it to inject methamphetamine.

A search of the vehicle found marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in the woman’s purse and a plastic bag with a crystalline substance the deputy believed to be methamphetamine.

Teenager Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Wednesday, April 11 – A 19-year-old woman was charged with possession of cocaine.

The suspect’s 52-year-old aunt called law enforcement officials when she found her niece cutting her right leg with a razor blade. The aunt believed the niece to be suicidal. A search of the woman’s purse found a straw and a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

When inquired about the cocaine, the niece said “it’s cocaine; it helps me not to cut myself.”

Property Goes Missing

Friday, April 13 – An unknown suspect stole a refrigerator dolly from the back of a man’s pickup truck.

The 41-year-old male victim told Deputy Johnson the dolly cost approximately $250. The man also said an unknown suspect stole two children’s seats from his residence’s front yard on April 6. The seats are estimated to cost $100 each.
