Coast Village restaurant Tsunami, one of Montecito’s few hubs for live music, hosts evening of moxie-sing jazz and standards from Great American Songbook.

Westmont Fringe Festival
Erlyne Whiteman, artistic director at Westmont College, describes festival as dance, theater and performance art with a combination of music, light, props and film projections. Westmont students, faculty and guest doctoral student-artists from UCSB will perform. Festival continues through Saturday, April 22.
When: Tuesday thru Saturday, 7 pm, 8:15 pm, 9 pm, and Sunday, 4:30 pm and 7 pm

ART ON DISPLAY
Faulkner West Gallery
Showcasing work of longtime Montecito resident Pat Bartz. Born and raised in Montecito, Pat went to Santa Barbara City College and earned full scholarship to Santa Barbara Art Institute. His artwork is on display until April 30.
When: Monday through Thursday 10 am to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday 5:30 pm

Now through May 5, Reynolds Gallery showcases independent projects of 16 Westmont seniors. Show consists of strong variety of work in sculpture, painting, printmaking, drawing, graphics and photography.

In Between Worlds
Judith Brown, Beit professor of imperial and commonwealth history at Balliol College, Oxford University, speaks on “Great Britain’s Changing Religious Landscape: The Impact of South Asian Migration,” focusing on how immigrants to the United Kingdom from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are struggling to retain aspects of their cultural and religious heritage while finding their place within British society.

Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis, assistant professor of educational psychology, explores influences affecting recovery from traumatic experiences in “The Cultural Context of Trauma Recovery.” Dr. Bryant-Davis examines child abuse, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, medical trauma, war, community violence and school traumas.
