Adopt a Pet
By Karen Lee Stevens
If the soothing sound of a purring cat strikes a chord in you, stop by the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) to meet Harmony. This 3-year-old melodic charmer is a bit quiet and shy at first, but quickly revs up her motor when she's being petted and pampered. And Harmony is not only beautiful (she possesses glossy ebony fur and golden eyes), but she is also friendly, affectionate and mellow. To top it off, she gets along well with children and other cats.
Harmony is available for adoption from the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP). ASAP is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that cares for the cats and kittens at the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter. The facility is located at 5473 Overpass Road, off Patterson Avenue.
For more info call 683-3368 or to view pictures of other cats, dogs and rabbits, please visit www.allforanimals.com.
From now through the end of the year, ASAP is offering two cats (over the age of 6 months) for the price of one (only $55). Twice the love, twice the fun. Stop by ASAP today to pick a pair of cats.
You can help the cats and kittens at the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter by volunteering your time a few hours each week. Volunteer training classes take place from 9 am to 11 am on Saturdays, by appointment.
For more information, please e-mail Kim Snyder, volunteer coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message at 681-4397.
