Holiday in the Village
Celebrate the holidays the Coast Village way. A horse-drawn carriage transports guests from one side of the street to the other while a caroling group, the Young Singers, strolls leisurely singing holiday standards. Songbooks will be provided to the public and businesses will stay open to serve hot cider, desserts and an ample dose of holiday cheer. The Holiday in the Village is compliments of the Coast Village Business Association.

DECEMBER 24 & 25
On behalf of everyone at the Montecito Journal, Merry Christmas. Before you head off to Our Lady of Mount Carmel for Midnight Mass consider stopping by the Bella Vista Restaurant at the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel for a special Christmas Eve four-course plated dinner in the Bella Vista Restaurant. The dinner costs $105 per person. If opening presents in the morning leaves you famished, save your appetite for the Biltmore again when Bella Vista offers another four-course meal, also for $105, while sumptuous buffets are served at La Marina and El Mar for $95.

MERRAG Board Meetings
Montecito Emergency Response and Recovery Action Group, MERRAG, holds its monthly board meeting. The group prepares Montecito residents for emergency or disaster situations and provides support for those who need emergency help. All are welcome to attend.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31
Happy New Year
Celebrate the festivities before Montecito rolls up its sidewalks. Coast Village restaurant, Cava, has set aside a special New Year’s Eve menu that includes a glass of champagne and ornaments on every table. (For more information call Carlos Lopez-Hollis at 452-3584.) The Four Seasons Biltmore doesn’t disappoint with its perennial gala event and seven-course dinner. Seating will occur between 7:30 pm and 9 pm and the cost is $185 a person. (For more info call Maxine Fortunato at 565-8232.) Don’t forget that if you have friends or relatives coming into town, the Montecito Inn will have a 20% discount on rooms tonight. (Call 969-7854 for info.)

Support Group Meeting
The Friendship Center holds support group meeting for caregivers of elders and dependent adults. All caregivers are welcome to attend, and free respite care is given to care receivers while caregivers attend the meeting. Contact Eryn Eckert to RSVP.
