Calypso is an 8-year-old medium-haired orange tabby with unusually beautiful light green eyes, a fluffy tail and a white vest and booties. Like the nymph of ancient Greek mythology, this little beauty is guaranteed to charm you with her engaging ways. She’s gentle, cuddly, affectionate and adores having her velvety fur petted. Curious and eager, Calypso will add color to your life and keep you entertained as she explores her new home.

To meet Calypso, stop by or call ASAP (Animal Shelter Assistance Program). The non-profit organization that cares for cats and kittens awaiting adoption at the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter is located at 5473 Overpass Road, off Patterson Avenue, 683-3368. Cats in Art Fundraiser

The Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) and Coffee Cat, present “Cats in Art,” an exhibit of paintings, photography and prints created by professional and recreational artists Emily Fletcher, Tina Funcich, Carrie Givens, Kathy Kefauver, Amy Ryan, Kim Snyder, Bette Stuebing and Laurette Valentine. Stop by Coffee Cat anytime between until December 10 to enjoy the eclectic art collection of these talented women, who also happen to be among more than 100 ASAP volunteers.

On Friday, December 1, from 5 pm to 8 pm, join the artists at a special reception and art sale at Coffee Cat, 1201 Anacapa Street, where the artists will be available to discuss their art and their other passion – providing loving care to the cats awaiting adoption at ASAP.
